The Wartsila Users Group and Conference are on the move!!

As many of you have seen, there are some big changes coming to the Wartsila Users Group in 2023 as we look to jumpstart our teams post COVID.
The first move we want to talk about is for our 2023 Conference. The steering committee has secured a venue for our 2023 Users Conference in Ft. Lauderdale the week of October 16th. Please keep your calendar open!!! We expect to have registration information up in the next week. Be on the lookout for more details soon!!! We are looking forward to seeing you and visiting with our vendors on their turf in sunny Florida!
There is a significant amount of time, effort, energy, and money that is required for setting up this kind of event. Historically, that responsibility has fallen to one of two entities… The first being our OEM which has been a generous host but can make for a not so USER driven Conference. The other entity is one of the first Wartsila plants in the US, Plains End and their Plant Managers, Tommy Arnett, retired, and Chris Stanley. Tommy and then Chris, with their teams at Plains End and NAES have worked for more than two decades to keep this forum going and without their tireless effort our group wouldn’t exist.
That brings us to our second move. The steering committee has been working with PowerUsers (powerusersgroup.org) to transition our group and forum to. If you are currently a registered member of the Wartsila Users Group we have the goal of making your transition as seamless as possible. If you are already a member of PowerUsers for one of your other technologies, we will work to merge your account so that there are not duplicates. Once our section of the PowerUsers website is up and running, we expect emails to go out to our members that will automate your enrollment. If all works as planned, your only requirement to regain access to all the forum topics and all our history will be to update your password. PowerUsers if an organization by Users for Users and we are excited about this alignment.
A special thank you to Tommy, Chris and your teams for all your effort over the last 20+years (and your continued support on the steering committee!) Also, thank you to PowerUsers for welcoming us and helping us get our 2023 conference off the ground. We look forward to a rewarding relationship that will allow the Wartsila Users Group to continue to have an open forum to meet the needs of our users. By Users for Users!
