Thank you for the responses – UMERC received Wartsila Parts Notice WS23P471 regarding a new type pressure sensor. The new sensor type code is 6635Axxxx or 7635Axxxx. The notice also included the instructions below.
<p style=”margin: 0in 0in 0pt;”><span lang=”EN-GB” style=”mso-ansi-language: EN-GB;”><span style=”color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;”>From TS:</span></span></p>
<p style=”margin: 0in 0in 0pt;”><span style=”color: #2f5597; font-family: ‘Arial’,’sans-serif’; font-size: 8.5pt;”>The de-rate of the engine is as it should be since the upper load level is controlled by the cylinder pressure sensors and if one have a failure, the load will be de-rated until the problem is solved.
What should be checked is the behavior of the pressure sensor, since sometimes there is a small sooth build up that can affect the sensor and the pressures starts fluctuating.
There is a spare parts notice WS23P471 (attached) which informs on a newer version that is more resistible to higher pressures and vibrations.
If sensors failing they should be replaced with new version.
According to system it shows that the engines were delivered with other version and should be checked on marking of the sensor according to the WS23P471
The test mentioned should also be done before changing the sensor.</span></p>
