Hope everyone has had a great year so far. We wanted to let everyone know that registration through our website opens tomorrow for the annual conference, scheduled in Fort Lauderdale, FL, from October 31 to November 4, 2016. Our host hotel is The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort (the particulars on the hotel will be included on the website). For those that went to last year’s conference in New Orleans, the comments we received indicate that it was a huge success. We had a great time and shared a lot of valuable information to bring back to our respective locations. This year, it is essential that each user send at least one representative to the conference. The Steering Committee has determined it is time for us to take the Users Group to a new level. At this year’s conference, we will be voting on a charter for the Users Group (a draft of this will be sent to all members next month for review) and we will be voting on other changes to the Users Group that will require your input.
We know you will find it extremely valuable for your plant site and promise a good time in Fort Lauderdale. If there are any questions in the interim, particularly for those that may not have attended previous conferences, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at any time. Hope to see you soon!

InactiveDear Fellow Members of the Wartsila Users Group:
Well, the 2016 Conference is right around the corner! We’ve been keeping an eye on registration and to date only around 25 of the 70 member companies have registered. This is a little disappointing because without the bulk of our members at the conference, we know we are missing valuable input that sustains our mission as a key industry group affecting our overall interaction with Wartsila. Further, if we are unable to meet our minimum registration per our block-booking agreement with the hotel, we stand to be penalized substantially for the “no-shows” and we don’t have money in reserve to cover such an expense. (I will be held personally accountable)
By copy of this email, we are asking each member to confirm their intention to either attend this year’s conference or not to attend. Based on these responses and if anticipated registration is lacking, we may be forced to make changes to the conference that would likely lessen its effectiveness for the group due to lack of overall participation. We sure hope that is not the case!
