    Members,

Attached is the final agenda for the meeting. I have extended the room bock out to 16th of October. I hope I did not confuse you all on the length of the conference. We will be meeting for a half of day on the 9th. Lunch will be provided.

As you all know MPR has become increasingly involved during the last two (2015 and 2016) WUG Conferences, and will be present again at the 2017 Conference.  As you are aware, they have actively participated by taking (and posting) the 2016 Conference minutes and the 2017 Conference Agenda.  In addition, MPR has prepared the draft Charter for the group, joined in the group collaboration (forums and teleconferences) amongst members, and they took time during the 2016 Conference to share a presentation that highlighted the value that they would add if elected Project Management of WUG.

MPR would serve in the project management role (e.g., technical support, group collaboration, conference logistics), and as Chairman, you can rest assured that I would still be the leader of membership, until such time as other elections were taken (for new officer(s) amongst members; as MPR will not serve as an Officer – simply as a project manager).

During the 2017 Conference, MPR plans to highlight/summarize a few bullets from last year’s value-add discussion, but my goal is to move this towards an official vote that would allow us to leave the 2017 Conference knowing that MPR would be the new project manager for 2018 and beyond.  Last year, they requested $2,000 per member station (which includes the conference registration fee for multiple station personnel to attend the annual conference [up to three]).

By way of this email, I would like to take a straw-poll to ask:

    • Are you in favor of MPR being voted-in as next WUG Project Manager?
    • Are you in favor of the suggested WUG charter?
    • Have you received authorization for station dues of $2,000 (or will you receive this authorization, prior to 2017 Conference)?

MPR has noted that an alternative (for 2018) would be to continue with registration payment per individual (like 2017) + $500 per individual for other group costs.  Either approach would be on a time and materials basis for 2018, to ensure that costs are covered during this transition year.

Please provide feedback (by October 25th), so that we can have a general idea of how things will go during the 2017 Conference.

    Thank you.

    Group,

    Two things:

First, I am forwarding (from last year) a “draft” version of the proposed WUG CHARTER.  This will be a discussion topic (agenda item) at the upcoming Conference.  The goal would be to have members approve a set guidelines that govern the group, its activities, and interactions.  It is meant to represent the collective  understanding/agreement of the group, so I would appreciate any thoughts questions or feedback.

    See link:

    The password = password123

Second, one of the benefits of gathering as a group is to share operating experience (OE).  To those ends, I would invite and strongly encourage each member station to create a brief summary (e.g., several Powerpoint slides) that can be brought to the conference on a memory stick.  That way, all Users can read/view your station’s OE as you narrate your station’s experience since our last conference.

    Looking forward …

    rgds,

    Rob
