During the 2018 Warstila Users Group Wartsila gave a presentation on Bridge Type Spark Plugs. UMERC got a set of the bridge type spark plugs and on two occasions we had engine trips on load deviation. The spark plugs had 181 and 239 hours of operation. As it turned out the bridge spark plug gap increased which is strange since Warstsila’s claim is the bridge spark plug gap wouldn’t change – the center electrode may erode but the ground electrode remains constant.
Has anyone else had similar experience with bridge type spark plugs?
