Two of our 18V50SG machines have had cracked cylinder heads that resulted in coolant contamination of the lube oil. Sodium levels are 145 ppm on one unit, and 177 ppm on the other. Wartsila states that Na >20ppm is “abnormal”, but does not elaborate as to what harm could come of this. Does anyone out there have operational experience with elevated sodium levels?
Thanks in advance for any information,
