Does anyone have any positive or negative input they can share on the oil they have elected to use? We are leaning towards the Pegasus 1005 or Pegasus 805.

Here at Matanuska we are using Pegasus 1005 with very positive results. We are going on 30K run hours and the oil is testing as good as new. When we picked 1005 we found out that it is formulated for gas reciprocating engines and the oil performance proves that it works. We test our oil every 500 hours and the TBN has gone from 5 on the new oil to 4.4 after 30K. If you need more information contact me and I will share sample results with you.
We also have added a portable filter cart to polish the oil. The safety filters on the engine are 64um and our portable cart adds addition filtration to 5um. We run it for 7 days on an engine and then switch. With 2 carts we are able to polish the oil every 5 weeks.
UMERC has 50SG engines and we are using the Pegasus 1005 lube oil. The run hours on the engine vary between 1000 and 2000 hours, and to date we have not experienced any issues with the lube oil. Lube oil usage, based on Wartsila Start-up testing, varies between 6 and 7 gallons per hour for each of the ten engines
