Hello WUG! We are looking into any fellow 34SG sites that are seeing / experiencing several Exhaust Valve Seal failures. Specifically, what step were taken to address this.

    Thank y’all for your time,

    Jesse “Zero” Gatlin

We have had many. Failures were linked to o-rings unable to support the heat. Markisches Werk analyzed the o-rings and supplied us with a high temperature replacement.

Ben Pacas  from Markisches can help you out. <pacas@mwna.com> Motor services can also supply these parts. Mladen Malovic <Mladen.Malovic@mshs.com>

During 16k overhauls we pull and replace all exhaust seats and o-rings. Since then we have had a significant reduction in seat leaks.

Thanks Jeremy for the recommendation and I am happy that all is continuously working great with this issue.

Jesse, please feel free to contact me or provide me with a contact to discuss your case regarding these and any other cylinder head related issues with valves, seat rings, springs, guides or rotocaps. Would be my pleasure to help out. Please check us at http://www.mwh.de

    Regards,

    Ben Pacas

Our entire fleet was affected, Wartsila changed the standard 40 degree seat to a 30 degree seat, it has corrected the issue some, we have 10000hr plus and are having heads reworked by MSHS and they are using MW parts, maintaining the 30 degree seat and valve.
