Inactive
<span lang=”EN-US” style=”mso-ansi-language: EN-US;”>Hello everybody,

We have 2 Starting Air Compressors (Sperre – XA 150) that are aligned in a system to supply starting air for our 3 Wartsila Motors (W50SG).

In the last year, we replaced some spare parts (kit E) on both compressors. But they still have “High HP pressure” and “High HP temperature”, causing them to “trip”.

We have already checked the HP check valve, cleaning the HP radiator (it had oil), solenoid (adjustment), etc., and put it into operation. The equipment works for about 2 minutes, reaches 26 bar of pressure in the line and trips by HP Internal High Pressure (32 bar). This is repeated several times.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Contact Chris he is the US factory rep and is extremely helpful. He will get you an answer. They provide great OEM support. They have solved a number of issues we had after start up. We have 10-50DF engines and 4 compressors with 30K on our engines and have had trouble free luck with the compressors.

InactiveCool,
Do you never had problems with HP High Pressure or HP Temperature? The HP radiator don’t have oil, same time?

InactiveWe haven’t any problem like the one you described. Contact Chris and he will help you put this issue in the rear view mirror.
We had some intake valve failure after start up they found a solution replacing all of the intake valves in our 4 compressors and supplying replacement valves that we had in inventory at no cost to us. That’s why I think Chris is your answer.

InactiveDear Emir,
We are using XA 120 in our site, and we used to get this alarm also frequently.
What we noticed is that we had a build up in the coolers and also in the pressure switches.
We had to change the coolers and pressure switches frequently.Seems that these compressors are only made for start up and they cannot run too long, otherwise it will build up burned lube through the whole system.
Did you change the pressure switches with new ones.

InactiveHi SPCS,
Sure, we already change the pressure switches and we are cleanning the HP radiator every 2 days (oil), approximatelly. We also check (cleannig and adjust) the solenoid valve
Are you still having problems or have you managed to solve them?
