Does anyone know of a way to update Wartsila’s electronic manuals within the “Offline Browser” (the electronic manual)?  I’m sure we all receive occasional updates to specific pages of our manuals, including spare parts updates, drawing corrections, etc.  When we receive these, we print replace the pages in the ‘physical’ manuals on the shelf.  The problem is that we don’t actually look at the physical manuals when working on engines…we only use the electronic manuals via the “Offline Browser.”  I don’t know of a way to keep the files within the offlline browser up-to-date.

Does anyone else have a solution for this?  Please do me a favor and respond even if you don’t have a solution.  If no one does, I plan to submit a Tech Request to Wartsila asking for a solution for this and indicating how many people have the same issue.

    Thank you,

I don’t think there is a way Stephen.  We use the hard copies  more than the electronic.  It would be nice to have browser updates.

    Stephen,

Yes, I have updated the electronic manuals. I utilized the full version on Adobe software to delete, markup and replace pages of the manuals. Our old version of manuals (2008) is easier to update than the new (2015) electronic manuals for the equipment. I have not been successful at adding a completely new manual to the manual set and modifiy the TOC.
